n a joyous celebration in Mathare’s Mashimoni ward, the Association of Women in Agriculture Kenya marked a significant milestone—the graduation of participants in the Resilient Recovery Project (RRP). This transformative initiative has been instrumental in empowering vulnerable mothers and fathers in the urban informal settlements of Mathare.
AWAK proudly celebrated the achievements of the 1st Cohort of the Real Gifts Project. The participants, who exhibited commendable dedication and active involvement throughout the training sessions, were honored with certificates of participation and equipped with essential starter kits to kick start their transformative journey.
AWAK recently attended the We-Care Phase 5.1 inception workshop, an intensive two-day session, hosted in collaboration with implementing partners Youth Alive! Kenya and funded by Oxfam in Kenya, aimed at fortifying the impact of the Women’s Economic Empowerment and Care (WE-Care) program
In a significant stride towards ensuring gender inclusivity and responsiveness, AWAK was proudly represented at the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) Validation workshop held at Mercure Hotel in Nairobi County, marking a crucial step towards the drafting of KNBS’s strategic plan for the years 2023 – 2027.
AWAK team actively participated in a three-day workshop held in Nakuru County, dedicated to disseminating the findings of the Kenya Time Use Survey (KTU) report in regards to Unpaid Care and Domestic Work.
