In a bid to stay at the forefront of agricultural innovation, the Association of Women in Agriculture Kenya (AWAK) attended the recently concluded Nairobi International Trade Fair 2023. Our dedicated field officers engaged in a robust learning exchange program, seizing the opportunity to explore cutting-edge developments in agriculture.

Under the overarching theme, “Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture & Trade Initiatives through Diversified Production, Preservation, and Value Addition,” our representatives immersed themselves in a wealth of knowledge. The event provided a platform for sharing insights and experiences, aligning seamlessly with AWAK’s mission to empower women in agriculture.

With a specific focus on Food Security and Nutrition, our team delved into Urban Farming Technologies, Food Processing & Value Addition through Baking, and Clean Energy Production. These strategic areas are integral to our ongoing Projects in slum areas, aimed at enhancing sustainability and impact within the communities we serve.

The Nairobi International Trade Fair proved to be a rich tapestry of ideas, innovations, and collaborations. Our field officers engaged with exhibitors, gaining invaluable lessons that will undoubtedly shape the future of our initiatives. The event’s success lies not only in the impressive array of agricultural advancements but also in the collaborative spirit that fosters growth within the sector.
