In a momentous celebration, the Association of Women in Agriculture Kenya proudly honored the achievements of the 3rd and 4th Cohorts of participants who successfully completed the Resilient Recovery Project (RRP). Under this transformative initiative, these resilient mothers and fathers engaged in a diverse range of training activities, including urban farming, food processing (baking), clean energy (briquettes making), business development skills, and mental wellness.

Reflecting on their dedication and commitment, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to these participants. As they step into the world equipped with newfound knowledge and skills, there is a palpable sense of optimism that they are poised to positively transform their livelihoods.

To kickstart their journey, each participant received an urban farming starter kit, featuring a carefully curated blend of soil and manure, quality vegetable seedlings, and a gunny bag. This thoughtful gesture aims to provide practical support, ensuring that the participants can immediately apply what they’ve learned.

Adding to the excitement, the County government of Mombasa has unveiled plans to distribute vegetable and maize seedlings to farmers in the county. The initiative begins with a special focus on our urban farming beneficiaries, marking a significant stride in recognizing and incorporating urban farmers as pivotal contributors to the agricultural sector.

Madam Pauline Ndiso, the Director of the Department of Blue Economy Agriculture and Livestock, announced this groundbreaking development during the graduation ceremony. The Association of Women in Agriculture Kenya expresses sincere gratitude to the County government of Mombasa, particularly the Ministry of Agriculture, for their unwavering technical support throughout the Resilient Recovery Project.

This collaborative effort not only signifies a triumph for the participants but also underscores the importance of community support and government recognition in fostering sustainable agricultural practices.
