Earlier today, our National Executive Chair lady – Judy Matu led a delegation of the AWAK team and our WRO donors to pay a courtesy call to the Governor of Kitui, H.E Dr. Julius Malombe at his office.

We got a chance to brief His Excellency about the different projects we are running in the county and shared the results of the just concluded M&Es.

The meeting was also graced by the CECs for Agriculture, Gender, Water, Environment & Climate change who were accompanied by their Chief Officers and the ministry Directors.

In His speech, the governor applauded our work and committed to support our projects which are focused Food Security and Nutrition, Climate Action and Women Economic Empowerment noting that the three aspects are well aligned in his manifesto. The CECs too

echoed his words and promised to accord us their full support and collaboration.

Our Donors got a chance to learn and interact with the work we have done on the ground in line with land restoration and soil health through Agroforestry. They had a chance to visit the project’s participants at their farms and visit KEFRI Kitui where we build the capacity of the participants on Agroforestry.
